Profile

The CERSS Kompetenzzentrum Bahnsicherungstechnik GmbH (centre of competence of railway signalling), a company of the CERSS group, is commercially and financially located in Dresden, Germany. We are concerned with providing engineering and research services as well as expertise and certification in the fields of transport engineering and safety technology, especially with regard to railway systems. We conduct independent verifications and validations for systems of all safety integrity levels (SIL). Audits and expert opinions on processes of planning, project planning, production and verification are executed, too.

We are valued and acknowledged by regulatory authorities, companies and by court. Our employees possess profound knowledge and experience in the field of railway safety technology, risk evaluation of safety systems in Germany and abroad as well as the development of new types of systems, including their certification. Numerous project references can prove this.

Our expert knowledge is incorporated in various teaching and training courses. A close cooperation with the Chair of Railway Signalling and Transport Safety Technology at the Technische Universität Dresden (University of Technology) enables constant care, build-up and expansion of our employee’s expertise.

Within CERSS exists the Inspection Body CKBIS according to annex II of the CSM regulation (EU 402/2013 and standard EN ISO/IEC 17020). The Eisenbahn-Bundesamt (German Federal Railway Authority – EBA) has accredited CKBIS as an Assessment Body by certificate No 011.

    By using common resources, we create efficiencies that are reflected in attractive and solid offers for our customers. Consequently, we ensure a comprehensive value-added process for our customers within the framework of joint projects. The companies also provide technical support, work closely together and bring their individual skills to bear on security and safety issues.

    The close cooperation with the Chair of Railway Signalling and Transport Safety Technology at the Technische Universitaet Dresden (University of Technology) is the basis for technology transfer based on the state of the art in science and technical knowledge. This enables constant care, build-up and expansion of our employee’s expertise. Furthermore, the knowledge is incorporated in various teaching and further education at the Technische Universitaet Dresden.
